When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” (John 5:6 NLT)

Like me, are you wondering why Jesus had to ask the lame man by the pool if he wants to be healed when the answer was already obvious?

Bo Sanchez, in one of his talks in the Feast, explained that Jesus asked because He wanted to hear from the man that he truly wants to get well.

Bo Sanchez expounded during the talk that this is what the universe wants from us, CLARITY. We need to be unambiguous with what we desire to receive and achieve our dreams.

Are you like many Pinoys who want to be rich but are secretly reluctant to be rich? Have you romanticized poverty? Do you think that money and rich people are bad?

I think many Pinoys have subconsciously decided to stay poor because they do not know what the purpose of money is. I hope the following would enlighten many who when asked again, “Do you want to get rich?” will answer, “Yes.” with conviction.

Top 3 Reasons Why You Need To Be Rich

Live worry-free. Are you a father who constantly toss and turn at night worrying how to provide for the needs of your growing family? What if one day your boss asked you to come to his office  to be told that because the company is downsizing, he had to let go of you? How long will you be able to live before you get a new job? Emergencies happen without prior notice. Being rich is being a boy scout or girl scout, “always prepared.” Sleep soundly at night knowing that you can face any storm that comes your way with confidence.

Future-proof your family. When you are rich, you can see your  family smiling and happy when you dream at night because you not only provided for their daily needs but because you have set aside enough for their future.

Tony Meloto Quote

Bless the poor. You cannot give what you do not have. More money means being able to help the least of our brothers more. Avoid having to make the difficult choice of not giving those who ask something from you because you only have enough for you and your family.

Words of Wisdom by Abraham Lincoln

Words of Wisdom by Abraham Lincoln

This is a post on Truly Rich Club’s Facebook page shared by one of my friends.  I agree with everything that  Abraham Lincoln wrote and I felt it would be selfish of me if I don’t share it so that more will benefit from it.

How about you? Do you agree with what A.L. wrote?

Please feel free to share this as well.

My books on financial literacy

These are some of the books on financial literacy I bought  after that experience of  “investing”  in a pyramiding scam. That experience taught me the wisdom of  investing  in educating myself about money to prevent me from getting  fooled again. Each book has unique lessons to offer which taught me how to handle my finances wisely.

Allow me to share with you what I learned from 3 of my personal favorites.

1. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

Pay yourself first. I learned that when we get our salary every month we should not go to the malls right away to spend it and end up paying the malls first instead of ourselves. We need to set aside a specific amount to serve as our savings. These savings are what we pay ourselves for a job well done.

Passive Income  means income that you earn while you sleep or do something else.

2. 8 Secrets Of The Truly Rich by Bo Sanchez

Secret #5 :Raise Your Financial IQ I raised my financial IQ by reading books about how money works.

Secret #6 : Ride Something to Wealth I learned that there are 3 kinds of people in the world: SPENDERS, SAVERS & INVESTORS. I was a saver for the longest time.  I realized that being a saver, I was only walking towards wealth. I put my savings in the wrong places. Because I only put my money in the bank, it barely grew.

But I learned to become a serious investor two years ago. I rode vehicles to wealth. I did not just walk anymore. My money did not stay in the bank. I looked for sound investments wherein my money will grow exponentially instead of barely.

3. My Maid Invests In The Stock Market and Why You Should, Too!

The book I own which changed my life! When I came across this in a bookstore, I was hooked! I bet you know why, right? At first, I cannot believe that it was possible for maids or our kasambahays to invest in the stock market.

When I finished reading it, I was actually in a panic. Several thoughts raced through my mind. Thoughts like, what do I do next?

Upon calming down, I took a deep breath and absorbed my realization that if maids can do it, so can I : ) I, a regular employee, now invests in the stock market like these maids : )
